BURDGE GLASS PLATE NEGATIVE COLLECTION

INTRODUCTION

The Burdge Glass Plate Negative Collection was accessioned into the Flesh Public Library Archives and Special Collections in January, 2000.  The collection fills seven negative boxes and one Hollinger box.

There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.  The negatives were donated by Frank D. Perando, 6305 Newberry-Washington Road, South, Piqua, Ohio.

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

The Burdge Glass Plate Negative Collection consists of two series of materials dating from the 1860’s.  The series are glass plate negatives and a ledger book.  These glass plate negatives were salvaged from 413 N. Main Street by the donor in the late 1970’s.

Review of the ledger book found with the negatives indicates that the plates most likely came from Burdge & Company Photographer, 109 North Main Street.  This notation was on page 14 of the ledger book.  Burdge was listed in the 1868 Williams Ohio State Directory.
