DAVIES (DAVIS) FAMILY DOCUMENTS COLLECTION

 

INTRODUCTION

 

The Davies (Davis) Family Documents Collection was donated to the Flesh Public Library Archives on 19 December, 2005.  It includes deeds, wills, powers of attorney, newspaper clippings, letters, and other personal documents.   This collection comprises one Hollinger box containing 80 files.  There are no restrictions on the use of this collection.

 

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

 

The Davies (Davis) Family Documents Collection comprises one Hollinger box and eighty file folders.  It is organized into six Series:

HISTORY

 

The Davies (Davis) Family Documents Collection was found in a metal box at 500 N. Wayne Street by Mrs. Robert Reed. Some of the more interesting personal documents include the will of James Johnston of Upper Piqua, dated August 21, 1846; the fortieth and fiftieth annual reports of the Piqua Female Bible Society, dated 1858 and 1868; an obituary of Mrs. Rachael Johnston Davies, who died at the age of 100 years, 1 month, and 14 days; and numerous deeds, wills, and other family documents.
