Introduction

The Charles Dale Coleman Children’s Book Collection was accessioned into the Piqua Public Library in September 2009.  The collection consists of one book of poetry and three children’s books.  While this collection is owned by the Library, its use, especially the use of quotations or sections from the books, is governed by the copyright laws of the United States.

Charles Dale Coleman was born in Indiana and currently lives in Ludlow Falls, Ohio.  “He has penned books of poetry and has written eleven children’s story books.  Mr. Coleman has letters of acknowledgements from President Reagan, governors of many states, and Queen Elizabeth II of England.  Also recognition from Pope John Paul II with his blessings.  His poem about Maine is being preserved in the State’s Museum as has his poem of Hawaii.  Coleman also has a coloring book with poems featuring a clown called ‘Heartful’.  Coleman is a poet of all seasons as you will discover in his writings.  Heartful the Clown is his logo that you will find stamped on all of his works.” [From the back cover of A Journey Into Verse by Charles Dale Coleman, published by Author House, Bloomington, Indiana, 2007.]
