PIQUA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION PLANS COLLECTION:  ARCHITECT’S DRAWINGS FOR ADDITIONS AND REMODELING 1966-1970; 1982-1984; 1997

INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Piqua Memorial Hospital Construction Plans Collection was accessioned into the Piqua Public Library Archives and Special Collections in December 2013 as the result of a donation from the City of Piqua.  The collection consists of three sets of construction drawings.  Two of the sets are for additions to the Piqua Memorial Hospital.  The third set is for revisions to the plans for the laboratory at the Upper Valley Medical Center.  The plans are housed in three files in a single flat rectangular Hollinger box.

The plans were given by Upper Valley Medical Center to the purchaser of the Piqua Memorial Hospital building.  After the building changed owners several times with no action for use of the building and due to its deterioration it was condemned by the City of Piqua and the city took possession of the property when the final owner abandoned the building.  The city acquired the plans from the final owner.  When the city sold the property to the Piqua City Schools the building was razed to make room for a new school.  The city, having no further use for the plans, transferred ownership of the plans to the Piqua Public Library.

There are no known restrictions on the use of these plans by researchers or patrons of the library.
