2004 HALL OF FAME WINNER Leonard U. Hill (1885 – 1984) Hill was born on the family farm in Springcreek Township. He was a pioneer in rural programs including the raising of soybeans, the first president of the Miami Rural Electrification Cooperative, and president of the newly consolidated Springcreek Township Schools. As a historian, Hill organized both Piqua and Miami County Historical Societies, promoted the formation of the Piqua Historical Area and authored several books and numerous local history articles.
