A manuscript is a collection of artifacts which are generally paper-based and fill one or more boxes.  These artifacts may include photographs, letters, ledgers and journals, business records, diaries, scrapbooks, organization membership cards and lists, and many others.  

The Archives has more than 250 processed manuscript collections that range from materials about the Mills Brothers to company records for the Atlas Underwear Company.  The Manuscript Collection also includes local Grand Army of the Republic (Civil War Veterans) records, the Piqua Female Bible Society (1818-1969), over 26,000 Lange photographs and negatives (1943-1967), the records of the local chapters of the International Order of Odd Fellows (1839-1962), various women’s clubs, and materials relating to Medal of Honor winner, William Pitsenbarger.
