The Piqua Public Library is committed to serving the needs of the public while also working to ensure the safety and health of our patrons, staff, and community. Based on guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and directives given by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, the library has decided to take the following precautionary measures:
Library programs have been suspended, beginning Thursday, March 12. This includes all programming for children, teens, and adults.
The Piqua Public Library will be closed beginning Monday, March 16th through Saturday, May 2. Patrons who wish to pick up items on hold, or check out materials, should arrive at the library prior to 5:15 pm on Saturday, March 14th. No library patrons will be penalized for not returning library materials on time when the library is closed.
Social distancing has been seen as an effective way of curtailing the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, we are asking all library patrons not to gather, or linger, inside the library. Meeting room use by the public has been canceled. This includes study rooms. In support of social distancing, some public computers will be unavailable to use. Due to limited resources, children under the age of 18 should be supervised at all times by an adult.
This is a rapidly changing situation and we will keep you updated via our social media pages.
